Lucca: World Cycling Capital
Lucca has been chosen as official START of the 2013 Road Cycling Worldchampionship that will be all run in Tuscany from September 21st through September 29th, 2013. The race will cross the most charming Tuscan roads, will climb the world famous hills and will arrival in Florence.
The Walls
Lucca town is completely surrounded by XVI Century walls. The walls, 4.3 Kms long, are allowed only to walkers and bikers, and they are an ideal warm up for the bikers and a perfect start point to the rides. It is considered one of the symbols of the town in the world
Piazza dell' Anfiteatro
This square is one of the most famous of Lucca. It was a Roman Colosseum that was built almost 2000 years ago. In the past Centuries all houses were constructed on its perimeter making this place one of the most charming and unique of Italy
